Baylor's Matthew Mayer withdraws from the draft, will transfer - here are his options

One of the best players in the transfer portal is officially coming back to college - as it was reported by SNY's Adam Zagoria that former Baylor forward Matthew Mayer will withdraw from the draft and return to school. He had previously entered the transfer portal prior to the May 1 deadline.

The 6'10 forward who was a starter on Baylor's title team in 2021 struggled a bit this season, averaging 9.8 points per game, on just 32 percent three-point shooting. However, he shot over 37 percent in both the 2020 and 2021 seasons and will bring a stretch element to the four spot for his next team.

Among the schools that Mayer heard from upon entering the portal were Texas Tech, North Carolina, USC, Memphis, Alabama, Arkansas and Illinois, with many believing he is a favorite to replace Brady Manek for the Tar Heels.
