One of the best freshmen in college basketball just entered the portal, as Washington State guard Myles Rice announced he was transferring. The news was first reported by On3's Joe Tipton.
The 6'3 Rice is a unique story as a third-year freshman, after he redshirted in 2021-2022, before being diagnosed with cancer last season. However he made a full return in 2023-2024, averaging 14.8 points per game, leading the Cougars to their first NCAA Tournament trip in nearly two decades. His decision to transfer isn't shocking, following the departure of head coach Kyle Smith to Stanford.
Originally from South Carolina, expect most of the SEC to be in the mix on his recruitment.
