UConn just added a high-level guard to its backcourt, as former Dayton guard Malachi Smith has committed to the Huskies - in news first shared by UConn's collective, Storrs Central.

Smith is a veteran guard who averaged 10.4 points and 5.3 assists this season for the Flyers, all while shooting 38 percent from three.

He immediately adds depth and skill to an explosive backcourt that features returnee Solo Ball, transfer star Silas Demary Jr. and newcomers Darius Adams and Braylon Mullins, both of whom were McDonald's All-Americans.

Smith has one year of eligibility remaining.
